Title: Utilizing Potential
Post by: Christian on July 29, 2023, 03:24:30 PM
I had an interesting insight/cognition today with regards a business client of mine.
Usually I am quick in picking up what a client needs and wants, but this one particular client is different.
I couldn't pin-point what is wrong with him or me ... I just didn't seem to be able to "read" how best to serve him.

Then I spotted a pattern. He throws in a bunch of ideas of what he wants. Then another bunch of ideas about a different area of activity he wants to work with me on. Then he goes back to the first area again and throws in new ideas, changes ideas he uttered previously and so on (this goes on over several weeks). In short, very confusing.
So my first thought was that he is just confused. However, looking at his accomplishments he demonstrated competence in achieving his goals so far.
I went in session a few times to run some moods and charge this brought about for me and on the line and suddenly I realized. Aha!

I am used to, when starting a project for a client, that he either already has a vision of what they want or at least hase a vague idea.
This dude however seems to be sourcing his enthusiasm seemingly directly from his potential, turning it into an intention, bypassing the vision and planing and jumping right into implementation.  ;D

I looked into it and indeed, while he is accomplishing things it's rather chaotic. He does many things simultaneously and can't decide (definitely) how a particular thing should be. And sometimes he decides, acts upon it and then reverses his previous decision and needs to tear it down again. Total disarray. Zero alignment.

I will need to sit down and communicate to him what I've observed and see if it indicates.

I he were willing to get coaching and processing I'd do the following things:
- educate him on the SPIEPIR sequence
- do the drill to get him familiar with the SPIEPIR sequence
- clay table of his main vision / dream with regards the overall project.
- take it from there...

But in any event will need to give him a brief overview of the SPIEPIR sequence and how it relates to his operations.

In some philosophies there is a lot of talk about "in the chaos is great potential". I always thought this is a stupid precept. Until I started working with this guy.  :))
I hope I will be able to help him utilize his potential by giving him a tool with which he can sequence his steps and bring it all into alignment. This would not only help me be of better service for him but also would multiply his effectiveness by a lot.

Good analysis leading to a correct answer and handling there, Christian.

Nice to see.

Also, one of the things I have found too many ordinary folks do is to spray anyone in shooting range with GENERALITIES . . .

Generalities are a killer of correct and easy performance . . . apart from the fact that they present an imprecise and confused target, they can jam the analytical processes of folks; and produce negative charge.

Hence the smart move is to be alert to the phenomenon of folks being imprecise and spraying generalities . . . we can save ourselves a lot grief by recognizing them and applying the processes needed to replace them with specificity or otherwise dismiss trying to deal with them.

To be noted is that destructive, negative processors typically use generalities in their communications as the weapon applied to dominate others.

Ah, yes, Roger. Thank you. This is right and a good reminder to watch out for.
Also in my own thinking and "labeling" stuff.
You see, my first thought was to label his behaviour simply as "confusion". But it didn't work as it wasn't specific enough. It took me a while and I had to discharge the area in order to cognite. (Also taking my Codes into consideration was of benefit.)

In case of my client. Yes, definitely a lot of generalities. We could call it "low resolution" or "blurry" concepts in want of a refined definition of the What. :-)

Best regards,
Christian
