What you said about Copernicus, his ties to the popes, was new to me.
What's interesting: the Poles will all say Copernicus was a Pole while the Germans will say he was German.
This dispute is still going on. Much of his writing, especially correspondence, was done in German.
I heard of Giordano Bruno before. Isn't it interesting that we don't hear much about him even today?
Simliarly Nikola Tesla, though a greater genius than Edison, is barely spoken about in schools.
