THE IN-BUILT ERROR OF THE CONTEMPORARY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ENDEAVOR

Below is an important post. It delineates a vital distinction between orders of importance and use of what it is we should be prioritizing in our search of "truths to be known."

THE IN-BUILT ERROR OF THE CONTEMPORARY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ENDEAVOR

Too much of the Current Scientific Belief System Paradigm is operating on the idea that all of life is derivative of, or somehow sourced by, the actions of physical atoms and molecules.

Yet, during all of the history of scientific inquiry, no one has observed or proposed how the atoms and molecules of the physical universe have exercised VOLITION.

Well documented is the observation that the atoms and molecules of the physical universe REACT to outside stimulus. They do not of their own volition source anything.

But what is observed and understood is that we humans, you and I, do have volition.

And in exercising that volition we can and do source new existences along with new conditions of extant existence.

Thus, as a logical thinker, I find it quite astounding that the scientific endeavor is bedeviled by a stark lack of the pursuit of the truth of our human spiritual creative capacity and the recognition of its production.

Until recently, I was stuck with the nonsensicalness of this situation and the behavior of “scientism” that held it up as “OK.”

It happened that I was doing an analysis of the words used (and misused) by the scientific community, and indeed, the word “Science” which itself is known to be derived from the Latin word "scientia," which means knowledge, awareness, or understanding, and is derived from the verb "scire," meaning "to know."

Which raises the question, “What is there to know that we should seek to know?”

It strikes me that the priority thing that we should seek to know, and fully know, is the true spectrum of our personal spiritual nature and its presence, powers, abilities, capacities and virtues.

But historically, the correct and honest pursuit of that vital knowledge was burned at the stake with Giordano Bruno on February 17, 1600.

The domain of truth and knowledge to be elucidated regarding our spiritual existence, truths and capacities was deemed to be the strict province of the Catholic Church and its hierarchy.

The belief systems, teachings and practices of the Catholic Church put the Church hierarchy in direct and dominating control of the populace.

Church leaders were massively in fear of any truths that falsified the basis of their power and control over the populace.

Hence, investigation into the establishing of any facts regarding our spiritual truth that threatened to prove false the dogmas and beliefs their power depended on, had to be shot down!

The Church of Rome literally acted to kill off the truth that YOU AND I HAVE VOLITION AND THE CAPACITY TO CREATE INTO EXISTENCE OUR WANTS when they silenced Giordano Bruno.

Conventional opinion has it that the Catholic Church was against Nicolaus Copernicus’s heliocentric theory as evidenced by its persecution of Galileo Galilei in 1616 and 1633 for “supporting Copernicus’s scientific findings.”

But, and a big BUT, Copernicus’s work and findings were well known to the Popes long before his work was finally published.

At the insistence of Pope Clement VII the material of Copernicus’s work was expanded into the great work of Copernicus’s career, De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium (On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres), which officially proposed a sun-centered theory to the world. The printed book, dedicated to Clement’s successor, Paul III, reached Copernicus just hours before his death on May 24, 1543.

As Copernicus explained to Clement VII’s successor, Pope Paul III, telling the Pope that it was good to “follow the example of the Pythagoreans and certain others, who used to transmit philosophy’s secrets only to kinsmen and friends, not in writing but by word of mouth, as is shown by Lysis’ letter to Hipparchus”.

To be noted is that Copernicus’s book when finally published was dedicated by him to Pope Paul III.

Thus it is incorrect to say “the Church” was against Copernicus’s finding that the Earth is not the center of the Universe.

But Giordano Bruno: born Filippo Bruno; January or February 1548 – 17 February 1600) was very different. Bruno was an Italian philosopher, poet, alchemist, astrologer, cosmological theorist, and esotericist.[1][2] He is known for his cosmological theories, which conceptually extended to include the then-novel Copernican model. He practiced Hermeticism and gave a mystical stance to exploring the universe. He proposed that the stars were distant suns surrounded by their own planets (exoplanets), and he raised the possibility that these planets might foster life of their own, a cosmological position known as cosmic pluralism. He also insisted that the universe is infinite and could have no center.

But his particular penchant was the investigation into our human spiritual powers, capacities and abilities, being famous for his actual teachings on these subjects, mental powers and the practice of memory training.

His big failing, however, was that he did not suffer fools gladly nor stupid criticism of the facts he found to exist.

As noted in the definitive biography on Giordano Bruno is by Encyclopedia Britannica,
https://www.britannica.com/search?query=Giordano+Bruno

“He also strongly criticized the manners of English society and the pedantry of the Oxonian doctors. In the De la causa, principio e uno (1584; Concerning the Cause, Principle, and One) he elaborated the physical theory on which his conception of the universe was based: “form” and “matter” are intimately united and constitute the “one.” Thus, the traditional dualism of the Aristotelian physics was reduced by him to a monistic conception of the world, implying the basic unity of all substances and the coincidence of opposites in the infinite unity of Being. In the De l’infinito universo e mondi (1584; On the Infinite Universe and Worlds), he developed his cosmological theory by systematically criticizing Aristotelian physics; he also formulated his Averroistic view of the relation between philosophy and religion, according to which religion is considered as a means to instruct and govern ignorant people, philosophy as the discipline of the elect who are able to behave themselves and govern others.

“The Cabala del cavallo Pegaseo (1585; “Cabal of the Horse Pegasus”), similar to but more pessimistic than the previous work, includes a discussion of the relationship between the human soul and the universal soul, concluding with the negation of the absolute individuality of the former. In the De gli eroici furori (1585; The Heroic Frenzies), Bruno, making use of Neoplatonic imagery, treats the attainment of union with the infinite One by the human soul and exhorts man to the conquest of virtue and truth.”

As can be seen in the brief quotes I cite of Bruno’s investigation into and findings on the nature of the human spirit, he posed too great a threat to the corrupt power of the Church hierarchy and had to be silenced.

And it was with his silencing in February, 1600, that the scientific quest for knowledge was split into two parts: the mundane physical of atoms and molecules that was safe for the plebians to deal with versus the spiritual true nature of the source of it all that threatened the oligarchy.

In my view, it is time the scientific pursuit we are involved in should get back to what can be found, known and practiced such that we humans can recover our sovereignty, cause and free will in the pursuit and practice of our true powers and expression of wants.

Great read, Roger.
Thank you.

What you said about Copernicus, his ties to the popes, was new to me.
What's interesting: the Poles will all say Copernicus was a Pole while the Germans will say he was German. :-D
This dispute is still going on. Much of his writing, especially correspondence, was done in German.

I heard of Giordano Bruno before. Isn't it interesting that we don't hear much about him even today?
Simliarly Nikola Tesla, though a greater genius than Edison, is barely spoken about in schools.

Hi Rog!

Very interesting read!!!

I didn't know about Bruno until now, so I'll try to find out more.

It's truly very interesting, and of course, the coincidence of domination and manipulation of power toward a few who don't want to reveal themselves or lead others to achieve that same position continues to this day.

I'm glad to be part of our liberation movement, to have access to our powerful knowledge, and to contribute to creating that change where consciousness can be free and find itself internally through the search for truth within ourselves.
