CAUSING HAPPINESS
Today is turning out to be one of those days when all types of home-spun wisdom comes falling into my lap.
This piece below caused me to observe that we, each of us, can and should knowingly be doing the deed of CREATING THE HAPPINESS THAT WE WANT TO ENJOY.
IT SEEMS THAT HAPPINESS DOES NOT CREATE ITSELF!
Let’s talk about ordinary things…
We often place so much importance in the extraordinary things when in actual fact it’s the small, ordinary things that hold the key to real, long lasting happiness and joy.
It is he who finds happiness in every little thing that needs nothing.
Mastery of life lies in finding happiness in life itself, without the frills, the periphery, the adornments, the accolades, the riches or the banalities.
It’s when you wake up and the fresh morning air brings you joy, when a morning kiss from a loved one warms your heart for the rest of the day, when your pet’s wild enthusiasm at your sight brings a smile to your face, when you listen to the bird’s song outside your window, when you watch plants grow, when you worry about others instead of just you, when you share your love, when you focus on making today a good day, when you understand it’s up to you, when you call a friend and ask them how they are, when you share the knowledge you gained through pain, when you realise your past pain was worth it if it helps relieve someone’s pain today, when you thank God for all of it because it brought you here, that’s when you begin to get a sense of what mastering life is all about.
That’s when you begin to feel the power that you hold inside, when you are hostage to nothing and nobody, because you understand you need nothing but what you already have inside.
Let’s talk about ordinary things, because in appreciating them is when we begin to live the extraordinary.

Finding Happiness...
"A beautiful woman in an expensive dress came to her psychiatrist, saying that she was depressed and her life was meaningless.
'I'm going to ask Mary here to tell you how she found happiness. All I want you to do is listen to her'
The psychiatrist called the old lady who cleaned the office floors and asked her to share her story with his client.
So the old lady put down her broom, sat on a chair and told her story...
'My husband died of cancer. 3 Months later my only son was killed by a car.. I had nobody.. I had nothing left.. I couldn’t sleep, I couldn't eat, I never smiled at anyone. I even thought of taking my own life.
Then one evening, a little kitten followed me home from work. Somehow I felt sorry for that kitten. It was cold outside, so I decided to let the kitten in. I got it some milk, and the kitten licked the plate clean.
Then it rubbed against my leg and, for the first time in months, I smiled.
Then I stopped to think ... If helping a little kitten could make me smile, maybe doing something for people could make me happy.
So the next day I baked some biscuits and took them to a neighbour who was sick in bed.
Every day I tried to do something nice for someone. It made me so happy to see them happy.
Today I don't know of anybody, who sleeps better than I do. I have found happiness by giving it to others.'
When she heard that, the rich lady cried. She had everything money could buy, but she had lost the things money cannot buy.
The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are, but on how happy others can be because of you.
Happiness is not a destination. It's a journey. Happiness is not tomorrow, its now.
Happiness is not a dependency, its a decision. Happiness is who you are, not what you have.". ~Unknown~
A short simple story that perfectly illustrates what life, love and happiness are all about.
If you don’t have of something (whatever that may be), focus on giving, you will see how soon you enjoy abundance.
